We are looking to fill the following positions:

SITE SUPERINTENDENT

We are seeking a seasoned Site Superintendent required immediately for a project local to our head office in Guelph, ON. We are seeking someone with 5-10 plus years experience, preferably with a minimum $5 million project value. The Site Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully completing the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintain the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety and quality control practices with all on–site activities. This position reports to the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Maintain a safe working site meeting all company and MOL standards
  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities
  • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that confirms to original plans and specifications
  • Handles on-site paperwork for project including but not limited to daily work reports, delivery packing slips, and credit card receipts, and weekly look-ahead schedules
  • Follow company purchasing procedures while ordering or receiving any needed material and equipment with delegate authority
  • Ability to read and fully comprehend the project plans and specifications
  • Conduct safety orientations for all contractors
  • Ability to preplan all construction activities in order to seamless follow the project construction schedule
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and conduct bi-weekly subcontractor progress meetings including recording and distributing meeting minutes
  • Ability to review monthly contractor pay applications and verify the percent of actual work complete
  • Ability to review and verify submittals according to plan details as well as work in place
  • Maintain a positive and respectful relationships with owners, engineers, architects, subcontractors, suppliers and other employees
  • Communicates at all times with the Project Management team
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately
  • Maintain an organized job site and office

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

  • Organization: Very organized with systematic approach task to achieve accuracy and efficiency
  • Communication: Displays strong written and oral communication skills and employs effect listening skills
  • Problem Solving: analyzes problems and makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risk, implications, and cost

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent combinations of technical training plus commercial construction experience.
  • Knowledge of Procore and Sage Timberline considered an asset

MEDIA RELATIONS AND MARKETING SPECIALIST

If you are a seasoned and creative writer with a background in Marketing Communications and Media Relations, this role could be for you! You understand storytelling and the power of a narrative, you are driven and innovative, and you know how to prioritize and work hard, but still have a little fun while doing it. Reporting to the Vice President, the Media Relations and Marketing Specialist will be responsible for increasing our brand awareness across North America through captivating and compelling communications.

You Will:

  • Initiate strategic and creative planning of Media campaigns and projects
  • Work with our sales team responding to RFP’s and RFQ’s
  • Attend trade shows and industry events
  • Provide exceptional results in media relations outreach, delivering strong, earned coverage for our brand
  • Partner with multiple teams across the organization on strategic marketing communication projects, posture the firm and its advanced technological concepts bringing all to the forefront and be the point person on new product launches
  • Act as the firm’s brand ambassador ensuring our brand, vision and mission are upheld in the market
  • Grow and maintain a list of media contacts and press and influencers with whom you will build and develop professional relationships
  • Leverage corporate marketing using advanced technology
  • Act as the firm’s media face
  • Prepare briefs and media statements for senior leaders when required
  • Pitch media to ensure we have ongoing mentions, features in industry news and publications
  • Draft, develop, and edit written communication materials in a variety of formats for multiple target audiences i.e. social media, email, brochures, websites, blogs, newsletters
  • Plan, schedule and launch social functions within the firm and with our stakeholders
  • Be camera savvy when in the field
  • Assist with inquiries and comments on all social media platforms to provide responses
  • Analyze and report monthly media coverage metrics to share with the senior leadership team
  • Wear multiple hats, manage multiple projects and remember to have fun!

You Have:

  • A post-secondary degree/ diploma in Business Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Excellent writing, editing, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong project management skills to plan, develop, and implement proactive communications
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly to last-minute changes in direction, presentation, and execution
  • Advanced working knowledge of social media platforms
  • Experience advising senior leaders
  • A creative brand, with an understanding of current marketing communication and social media trends
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally across Canada and to the U.S.
  • Have a valid drivers license for local travel
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Experience with website content management, Google Analytics and SEM – WordPress and NetSuite skills will be considered an asset

CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST

Based in Guelph, the Construction Engineering Technologist will be responsible for being the contact between the build team, project manager, and clients. Expected to prepare reports, bids, and takeoffs for various projects. Responsible for negotiating with a variety of contractors, sub contractors and partners fitting the budget and scheduling requirements.

Requirements:

  • Understand and perform document control functions in accordance with policies and procedures, including tracking and creating RFIs, transmitting and tracking of submittals, compose agreements, and maintain project expediting list.
  • Attend project co-ordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as required.
  • Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing training skills in order to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.
  • Present oneself as a candidate for promotion by learning and understanding construction methods and developing good construction management skills.
  • Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as assumed or requested by supervision.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proficiency in Reading Drawings – Structural, Architectural, Civil
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D Drafting), Microsoft Suite including Excel, Project, Bluebeam, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Procore and Sage Timberline considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Design Calculations
  • Experience working with Revit and Solid Works an asset
  • Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively with others
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to represent the company and project team in a professional manner to the Owner, Architect, related project staff and the community.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent combinations of technical training plus a minimum of two years commercial construction experience.
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to discipline
  • Valid driver’s license required

STRUCTURAL DETAILER

As we continue to expand we are looking to grow our team with an adaptable, detailed oriented, accountable and dependable person as a Structural Detailer. You will provide a detailed approach to drawing and designing on every project. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our experienced design team to produce highly accurate drawings for clients, partners, the fabrication team and the construction team.

  • New Build Designs for Proposals
  • Adjust, Manipulate and Manage Designs per Client Expectations
  • Prepare Plans and Designs in Accordance with Established Codes and Standards
  • Perform Routine Calculations as Directed

The successful candidate will require:

  • 3 years of design experience for permanent structures
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • A high level of software competency through on-going use
  • An Engineering degree would be considered an asset
  • An understanding of established building codes and standards
  • An understanding of current construction practices would be considered an asset
  • Ability to read schedules would be considered an asset
  • Excellent English both written and spoken is necessary

CARPENTER

Based in Guelph, we are currently looking for people with ability, skill and a strong desire to be part of our team who works with concrete by: placing, pouring, finishing, protecting and repairing the concrete in engineering and construction projects as well as cutting, bending, and preparing rebar for molds.Experience in a precast concrete shop would be ideal. Our preference is to hire people with drive and passion to join our dynamic team.

Requirements:

  • Ontario Journeyman Carpenters License (considered an asset)
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting 50+ Lbs, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods
  • Experience working in the construction industry (considered an asset)
  • Experienced in reading drawings (specifically concrete/precast erection drawings)
  • Experienced in cutting, bending and fixing rebar and molds
  • Experienced in building concrete forms for various construction projects
  • Able to read part lists and identify parts to use in assembly
  • Certifications in Forklift and Crane an asset
  • Strong work ethic
  • Punctual
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Able to work overtime and occasional Saturdays
  • Able to provide their own transportation

STRUCTURAL FITTER

Based in Guelph Ontario, the successful candidate will join our growing and experienced metal fabrication team in the role of Structural Steel Fitter.

Responsibilities:

  • Fit structural steel
  • Weld structural steel as needed
  • Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors
  • Able to use standard shop tools and equipment such as; grinders, band saws, OAC torches, ironworker, drill presses, etc.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of structural steel fitting experience
  • Current CWB GMAW Flat ticket considered an asset
  • Possess own layout tools
  • Forklift certification considered an asset
  • Able to work overtime and occasional Saturday
  • Able to provide their own transportation

SKILLED LABOURER

Based in Guelph, we are currently looking for people with ability, skill and a strong desire to be part of our team who erects our own leading edge patented CanadaCar Parking Structure System. Experience in ICI construction, steel erection would be ideal but not required. Our preference is to hire people with drive and passion to join our dynamic team.

We operate year round, so the ideal candidate must be willing to work in all weather conditions and physically able to meet the strenuous demands of the job.

Requirements:

  • Physically fit and capable of lifting 50+ Lbs
  • Experience working in the construction industry (considered an asset)
  • Basic hand and power tool experience (asset)
  • Experience reading drawings (specifically steel/precast erection drawings)
  • Able to read part lists and identify parts to use in assembly
  • Experienced in working with bolts (assembly of – familiar with washer/nuts etc)
  • Certifications in Forklift and Crane an asset
  • Experience in working with a Theodelite an asset
  • Experience with grout an asset
  • Strong work ethic
  • Punctual
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Able to work overtime and occasional Saturdays
  • Able to provide their own transportation
