Wilson Street Parkade

Newton Group Ltd. has started construction to design and build a new seven (7) level parking structure on Wilson Street in Downtown Guelph. The new parkade will park a minimum of 495 cars and include ancillary spaces for bike storage, IT, public washrooms (roughed in), a feature lobby and electric vehicle charging stations. Construction will additionally include the demolition and replacement of the Northumberland Street pedestrian bridge overpassing Norfolk Street in order to improve accessibility to the downtown core, the selective demolition and the rebuilding of Northumberland Street, the cooperation/coordination and management of surface works installation to Wilson Street, and landscaping.

The site is  situated north of the railway tracks sharing the boundary between the railway lands and extends north to Northumberland Street, with Wilson Street on the east boundary and Norfolk Street to the west.  Special consideration has been given to LEED in the design and proposed operation of the building. Low maintenance and durable systems are required for this parking structure with a fast track construction schedule.
