Qualifications:
Post Secondary Degree or equivalent experience in capacity planning and Production Scheduling
A minimum of five (5) years working with engineered shop drawings in a construction environment (Precast and/or structural experience consider an asset)
Strong computer skills (MS Office, MRP, Autocad, etc)
Excellent communication and team building skills
Knowledge of precast/concrete technology and/or structural steel will be beneficial but not mandatory, the willingness to learn about this topic is expected.
Responsibilities:
Review of engineered shop drawings to confirm compatibility with shop equipment, practices and configuration. Recommend revisions if applicable.
Develop production schedules in conjunction with Manufacturing Manager on a daily/weekly basis. While developing the schedule, examine expected delivery dates, plant personnel and equipment capabilities. The production planner then balances these elements to create and actionable and efficient production schedule.
Programming of the MES (Machine control system) which will involve training and ability to learn this software for the precast plant portion of the work.
Prepare work and materials lists for sub assembly stations as well as main assembly lines provide to the work stations ahead of production time.
Play an important role in managing resources, including employees, time, and physical inventories. While managing employees and timelines requires extensive familiarity with the company’s workforce and equipment capabilities, managing physical inventories frequently involves conducting visual and physical counts of inventory levels and parts to help inform schedule development.
Prepare reports outlining production activities and effectiveness. You will provide these reports to the Manufacturing Manager. These reports typically compare expected production levels to actual output.
