We continue to expand and have an exciting opportunity for a temporary Human Resources professional with the potential for the position to become permanent.


Requirements:

  • Respond to internal inquiries in a timely, professional and confidential manner

  • Track employee time off, including vacation, sick leave, leaves of absence, etc.

  • Input and verify employee information for new hires into the payroll and benefits systems

  • Benefits administration, including tracking benefit eligibility, processing enrollments, terminations and employee changes

  • Manage employee clothing and tool allowances

  • Assist with recruitment activities including posting jobs, reference checks, drafting offer packages, etc.

  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salary employees

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, rules, regulations, and laws

  • Maintain employee personnel files, ensuring all records are filed, accurate and complete

  • Complete and process Records of Employment (ROE)

  • Assist in payroll audits or requests

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all personal and payroll information

  • Provide administrative support to HR

  • Run errands as required

  • The responsibilities described above are representative and are not to be constructed as all-inclusive


Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

  • 1-3 years experience in human resources

  • Experience processing payroll considered an asset

  • Construction industry experience considered an asset

  • Knowledge of Ontario and Canadian payroll and tax legislation

  • Knowledge of WSIB considered an asset

  • Sage 300 CRE, ExakTime and Procore experience considered an asset

  • Proven ability to maintain sensitive and highly confidential information

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task without compromising on quality

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

  • Dependable and punctual

  • Intermediate computer literacy (including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word)
