Qualifications:
Accredited CWB Welding Supervisor Certification.
Three years of steel welding and/or fitting experience
1 – 3 years experience as a Quality Inspector in a structural steel environment
Current and valid CWB CSA W178.2 level 2 Welding Inspector
Current CWB FCAW, GMAW Flat ticket considered an asset
A solid understanding of the CSA Welding Codes 47.1 &59.1
Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes
Responsibilities:
Remain safety conscious at all times, wearing all required PPE and by observing safety rules stated in the Employee Handbook, operating procedures and relevant regulations
Ability to firmly adhere to all health and safety codes and regulations
Able to perform tasks independently under general direction
Demonstrate willingness to work with others in a team environment
Inspect all incoming subcontract goods and material for conformity to project requirements
Inspect all in process production and final product for conformity to project requirements
Complete NCR’s and participate in root cause analysis
Become a champion for Statistical Process Control in our structural environment
Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors
Perform other duties as requested by the department manager
Locations:
Newton Group Ltd. 41 Massey Road, Guelph, ON Canada N1H 7M6
Hours: 44 hours per week + overtime
Overtime: Paid at time and one half after 88 hours biweekly
