Newton Bridge Solutions was entrusted with the rehabilitation of the Shellard Road Bridge over Mill Creek in Cambridge, Ontario. The project was completed over a two month period. The narrow 2-lane concrete bridge and steel substructure were removed, and partial reconstruction to the top of the abutments and wing walls was completed. Installation of a new steel substructure with a wider precast bridge deck and parapet walls were all part of the scope of work. The new precast deck and walls were placed on the steel, and then grouted to be one complete unit. A concrete topping was poured across the top of the deck and new shoulders of Rip Rap were added for erosion control at each abutment.
