Qualifications

  • Organizational Skills
    Exceptionally organized with a systematic approach for achieving accuracy and efficiency.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with effective listening abilities.
  • Problem Solving
    Analytical skills for timely decision-making based on objectives, risks, implications, and costs.
  • Self-Motivation
    Highly motivated, goal-oriented individual capable of working independently.
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Proficiency in reading structural, architectural, and civil drawings.
    • Working knowledge of CAD and Total Station.
    • Familiarity with construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, materials, and standards.
    • Knowledge of Procore and Sage Timberline is an asset.
    • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites.
  • Detail Orientation
    Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality.
  • Professional Competency
    Technically and professionally competent in all assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Layout and Inspection
    Conduct layout work accurately and efficiently, inspecting all work for conformity with design and site drawings.
  • Drawing Interpretation
    Read, review, and interpret site and engineering drawings for clarity and compliance.
  • Compliance
    Ensure all work meets applicable engineering and building codes and standards.
  • Support to Site Superintendent
    Assist the Site Superintendent with quality control and site organization as needed.
  • Stakeholder Relationships
    Maintain positive relationships with owners, engineers, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and fellow employees.
  • Project Communication
    Maintain continuous communication with the Project Management team.
  • Site Safety
    Promote job site safety by encouraging safe work practices and promptly addressing hazards.
  • Job Site Organization
    Ensure an organized and well-maintained job site and office.

Work Conditions

  • Hours: 44 hours per week, as required by site
  • Benefits: Safety eye protection, hearing protection, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, long-term disability, pension matching, and a Health Care Spending Account. (Waiting periods and restrictions apply.)
  • Language: Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
