We are seeking twelve (12) qualified Carpenters to join our operations in Guelph, Ontario.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include:
- Building concrete forms for walls, stairs, and foundations for various construction projects
- Estimating height, width, length, and other proportions
- Select appropriate materials for the required job
- Working with blueprints or instructions from supervisors to prepare and join materials
- Utilizing chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures
- Joining materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
- Checking work along the way to ensure it’s up to code and specifications
- Using levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to perform layout and ensure everything is level and secure
- Instruct apprentices
Job Skills Required:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Three (3) years of carpentry experience to include a minimum of one year of the following:
- Reading drawings
- Read part lists and identify parts to use in assembly
- Using various power and hand tools
- Required to adhere to all applicable health and safety codes and regulations
Hours: 44 to 48 hours per week + overtime
Wage: $36.00 per hour
Working Conditions: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, walking, noisy, dusty
Work Settings: Construction, commercial, industrial, institutional
Overtime: Paid at time and one half after 88 hours biweekly
