The Linergy Manufacturing project, completed over five months, involved a solar installation featuring Heliene monocrystalline modules and the hB Solar Vicerack mounting system. The system was controlled by twenty-five Kaco XP10-H6 inverters, each optimized for efficient energy output. Given the pre-engineered steel roof’s 2.5-degree slope, Kiwi Newton reinforced the roof purlin system to accommodate the additional load of the solar array.
This setup was selected for its suitability to the specific site and product requirements. The Vicerack mounting system, designed to clip directly onto the standing seam metal roof without penetrations, significantly reduced the need for additional structural reinforcement. The panels were strategically positioned facing due south, at a 45-degree angle to the building’s orientation, with mounting angles of 20 degrees on the positive slope and 25 degrees on the negative slope, achieving a consistent 22.5-degree tilt relative to the horizon.
The inverter configuration was designed to enhance both performance and serviceability. Mounted on an exterior wall near the solar array, the inverters minimized DC wire losses and simplified maintenance access. The high-efficiency Kaco inverters, operating at 600VAC, also minimized AC losses and allowed for smaller wire sizes. Using separate inverters provided additional benefits, including reduced impact from snow, shading, and soiling, while enabling detailed string-level performance monitoring, ensuring optimized system performance.
