Project Name:

Linamar Corporate Headquarters

The Project

Kiwi Newton was selected as the design-builder for Linamar Corporation’s new 27,000 square-foot corporate headquarters in Guelph, Ontario. The high-end, two-story office building, designed in a neoclassical style, required comprehensive planning and budgeting, including the demolition of an existing industrial structure on the site.

In collaboration with Roth Knibb Architects of Toronto, a firm known for period-style designs and a trusted partner on previous projects, Kiwi Newton worked closely with Linamar to develop the site plan and initial design concepts. Once the functional program and site layout were approved, Roth Knibb completed the detailed architectural design, which Kiwi Newton executed with meticulous attention to quality and traditional craftsmanship.

Key architectural highlights include a grand open mezzanine with a skylight dome, an exterior finished in cut stone with classical details such as plinths, architraves, capitals, and crown moldings, and a high-pitched copper roof. The interior showcases intricate millwork and custom cabinetry designed to match the building’s period aesthetic, delivering a refined and cohesive space throughout.

The facility also integrates a research and development department within its basement, equipped with advanced international IT networks to support Linamar’s global operations. Today, this headquarters stands as a prominent landmark at 287 Speedvale Avenue in Guelph, exemplifying Kiwi Newton’s commitment to quality and architectural integrity in commercial construction.
