Kiwi Newton developed a four-story, 55-unit affordable housing complex in Fergus, Ontario. This 64,000-square-foot building includes 9 accessible units and is thoughtfully designed to serve seniors, adults with disabilities, and low-income families, providing safe and affordable living spaces tailored to diverse needs.
The project integrates a range of community-focused and environmentally conscious features. Outdoor amenities include a landscaped parking area, a gazebo, a large trellis, and a welcoming front entry canopy, creating functional and attractive common spaces for residents.
Sustainability was a key priority in this build. The facility incorporates green features such as solar panels to reduce energy consumption, cisterns for rainwater capture, a green roof to improve insulation and stormwater management, and efficient sunscreens to regulate interior temperatures. These eco-friendly components contribute to the building’s reduced environmental impact while enhancing energy efficiency and long-term cost savings.
This affordable housing complex exemplifies Kiwi Newton’s commitment to constructing high-quality, sustainable, and accessible housing solutions that meet the needs of the community.
