As a Shipper/Receiver at Kiwi Newton Group, you’ll play a key role in supporting the smooth flow of materials within our precast and manufacturing operations. Based at our Guelph plant, you’ll coordinate the daily receipt, inspection, storage, and shipment of raw materials and finished products, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety at every stage. This hands-on role involves operating counterbalance forklifts and overhead cranes, performing equipment inspections, maintaining accurate inventory records, and organizing clean, safe shipping and receiving areas. You’ll work closely with production teams to prepare, stage, and move materials as needed, while adhering to all Health & Safety policies and procedures. This position is well suited for a dependable, detail-oriented professional with manufacturing or metal experience who is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors year-round and takes pride in supporting a high-performing production environment.
Position Details:
- 41 Massey Rd, Guelph, Ontario, Canada, N1H 7M6
- Monday to Friday, 7am-4pm (overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed)
- Full-time, on-site within the precast manufacturing plant
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Coordinate the daily receipt, inspection, and shipment of materials and finished products
- Operate forklifts (counter balance) and overhead cranes to safely load and unload flatbeds, vans, and trucks
- Perform daily inspections on all shop cranes, forklifts, and related equipment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records and assist with material tracking
- Organize and maintain clean, safe, and efficient shipping and receiving areas
- Support production teams by preparing, staging, and moving materials as required for manufacturing
- Conduct inventory counts and ensure all incoming and outgoing goods are properly documented
- Operate and maintain standard shop equipment, such as grinders, band saws, oxy-acetylene torches, and ironworkers
- Work safely and effectively in both indoor and outdoor environments, year-round
- Follow and enforce all company Health & Safety policies and procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years in a shipping/receiving or warehouse role (metal or manufacturing environment preferred)
- Minimum 3 year experience operating forklift (counter balance)
- Overhead crane operation experience (strong asset)
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and as part of a team
- Valid AZ/DZ licence considered an asset, not required
- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace
- Strong organization and communication skills both written and verbal
