Newton Group was the Design-Builder for the Humber College North Campus parking structure. The project was designed for 1,000 spaces with an additional 10,000 sf of retail and office space along the northwest edge. The project includes bicycle storage, electric vehicle chargers and a large grand lobby with elevators and a naturally ventilated glass stairwell.

Newton Group was the Design-Builder for the Humber College North Campus parking structure. The parking structure is Net-Zero with 750 kW of solar panels installed on both the roof and portions of the southern façade. Such a large solar array allows the structure to offset it’s energy consumption along with other buildings on campus!
Newton Group provided turn-key design-build services with the CANADARCAR Parking Structure System, including in-house engineering, steel & precast manufacturing, site works, erection, electrical, mechanical, security and parking equipment.

American Galvanizers Association
Newton Group Ltd. is excited to announce that the Humber College Parking Structure has been named this years “Most Distinguished Project” from the American Galvanizers Association (AGA). A panel of Architects and Engineers assessed all of the projects submitted for the “2020 Excellence in Hot-Dip Galvanizing Awards” with the Humber College Structure receiving the highest honour!
The seven-storey structure which houses 1,000 parking spaces, was built with Newton Group Ltd.’s CANADACAR Parking Structure Building System. This system is an engineered and prefabricated approach which uses hot-dipped galvanized steel columns and beams to support a specialized precast concrete panel.
