West Peak Parking Structure

Kiwi Newton has been awarded the design-build contract for the West Peak Parking Structure, serving the growing residential condominium development by E Squared Developments in Guelph, Ontario. Designed to support the parking needs of the new residential community, the 2.5-storey facility will provide 468 stalls within 133,430 square feet of total area.

Initially planned as a double-tee precast structure, Kiwi Newton proposed an alternative approach utilizing the Kiwi CarPark System. This value-engineered design enhanced site efficiency by reducing the structure’s length from approximately 125 metres to 102 metres, leading to a smaller footprint and notable construction cost savings.

The revised layout features a two-bay configuration with a gentle helical ramp system, allowing vertical circulation through the structure’s length with just one entrance. Two stair towers are incorporated to meet user flow and safety standards. The use of precast foundations eliminates the need for extensive earthworks, retaining walls, and shoring, streamlining construction and reducing site impact.
