Responsibilities

  • Operate overhead crane under general supervision

  • Manipulate or depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions

  • Clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanism

  • Inspect crane for defective parts and notify supervisor of defects or malfunctions

  • Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy

  • Operate crane according to signals from helper

  • Follow directions carefully


Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience operating overhead cranes with heavy loads

  • Certification in Overhead Crane operation

  • Physically fit and capable of lifting 50+ lbs

  • Experience working in the construction industry (considered an asset)

  • Basic hand and power tool experience (asset)

  • Experience reading drawings (specifically precast drawings)

  • Certifications in Forklift considered an asset

  • Strong work ethic

  • Punctual

  • Able to work overtime and occasional Saturdays

  • Able to provide their own transportation
